Supermarkets Cut Fuel Prices by 5p Per Litre

This week sees 3 of the leading supermarkets, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons, cut fuel prices by up to 5 pence per litre.  The reduction comes as the wholesale cost of oil has fallen since October and the strengthening pound against the dollar.

These reductions, however, have come under scrutany, with some saying the cuts should have come much earlier.  Roger Fogg, Morrisons services director, said “A fall in the price of fuel due to a stronger pound is allowing us to pass further savings on to our customers. We will continue to make sure we are as competitive as we can be on price in every one of our petrol stations”.
