Quick Look at the New Toyota Hilux

As the market for pickup trucks becomes increasingly competitive, this month saw the start of sales for the brand new Hilux.

This vehicle has sold over 16 million units since it’s original launch in 1968, meaning the new model has a fair amount of weight on it’s shoulders.

According to Toyota, the new Hilux has a 20 percent stronger ladder chassis. This comes with a reinforced deck structure which, with the new engine producing 400Nm of torque, gives enhanced 4×4 capabilities and an improved towing capacity.

The new 148bhp 2.4-litre D-4D ‘global’ engine comes with a 6 speed manual gearbox and Start/Stop technology as standard, which has apparently increased the fuel efficiency by 9 percent and claims up to 41.5mpg.

It’s also said to be “more refined” on the road, making it a more comfortable Sub-Urban Cruiser as well as a working vehicle.

So, good small haulage vehicle and nice to drive on the roads and competitive prices too – Starting at 19,177 ex. VAT.

With that basic package of sub twenty grand, you still get air-con, heated mirrors, hill start, Bluetooth AND a 5 year and/or 100,000 mile warranty.

Can it get any better? Yep… We’re selling them too!
