Curtainside vans have a very specific purpose and that is to enable the loading and unloading of palletised cargo using fork lift trucks. Apart from this aspect the requirements of the body are then determined by the weight and volume of the cargo to be transported and so we can design your body to the optimum length for your business. One of the most important things to consider is the minimum side aperture height you require to ensure that your cargo can be loaded safely. Standard side aperture height is 1.95m but we can design the body with a height to suit your individual requirements.
The basic structure of the curtain side body is galvanised steel sub frame with heavy duty canvas curtains in a choice of colours. We can reduce the weight of the body and so increase the payload of the van by approximately 180kg by using aluminium sub frame which adds a small amount to the cost but the extra payload can be priceless to some businesses. The rear of the body can be enclosed with a roller shutter, wide lathe shutter, barn doors, canvas or simply blanked off if you do not require access through the rear. A standard wind deflector will be fitted on the cab to improve aerodynamics to help reduce fuel cost or if you need the extra storage a Luton head accessible from the cargo area can be fitted, handy for storing straps etc. The body can be painted to match your company colours and we can take care of any company livery, printed curtains etc. so your van can be delivered ready to work and reflect your company’s image.
Bespoke options are available such as tail lifts, removable drop sides, side rails and accessories such as beacons, tow bars and reversing sensors/camera are available to make the job of load, restraining and transporting your cargo as safely and efficiently as possible.
