The New Ford Transit Van Range

The Ford Transit MWB is the next entrant in the Transit series, and very accommodating in capacity and ability. The Ford Transit L2 model, as it’s otherwise known, is available with a choice between medium and high roofs. It has a maximum internal load length of 3044mm, a loadspace volume of 9.5m3 to 11.2m3 and a range of payloads from 898kg to 1530kg. Customers can choose whether their  Ford Transit comes as Front Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive and whether you require the Leader, Trend, Trail or Limited model Ford Transit.

The Ford Transit’s LWB van, or L3 as as it’s now often referred to, is the mainstay of fleet operators all over the UK, and its reliability and low service costs make it a favourite of small business owners too. The all new Transit is available in FWD, RWD and AWD, with choice between a medium roof (H2) and high roof (H3) and a payload range of 1071kg to 1482kg. It boasts a 3494mm load length, and a loadspace of 9.5 cubic metres to 15.1 cubic metres. There’s space for up to four 1.2m x 0.8m Europallets, and it has a turning circle (kerb to kerb) of 13.3m.

New Ford Transit Van Specifications

The introduction of the new 2.0TDCi engine has increased its fuel economy (especially in the rear wheel drive models), making it even cheaper and more environmentally friendly to run. The all new Transit is also equipped with an handy array of key features as standard in its Leader, Trend, Trail and Limited trims. These features include Bluetooth, electric windows, remote control locking, multiple stowage and full-width DIN-compliant steel bulkhead. The Trend model has a few extra additions too, including cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a trip computer, heated windscreen and front fog lights.

Finally, the single largest van in the Transit range is the Ford Transit XLWB, or Ford Transit Jumbo. Perfect for large-scale jobs, it’s only available as a RWD, with a payload range of between 1164kg to 2238kg, with a load length of over 4m. It’s available in the Leader, Trend and Limited trims, with power options of 105ps, 130ps, 170ps and 185ps in the new 2.0TDCi diesel engine.
